I was busy with job interviews yesterday, so I re-named my Hump Day Grumble for this week.
Women’s Football
Guys, you can’t have it both ways! You just can’t.
You say trans women can’t compete in women’s sport because they would have a supposedly major - advantage and then turn around and think it’s completely normal that women play football/soccer on the same sized pitch, with the same sized goal, identical game time and the same ball as men.
How does that make sense to you?
But I guess it’s not about protecting women at all. It’s about shaming them for not playing as “well” as men in conditions that are 100% designed around male physiology and performance norms.
Anyway, the atmosphere is better, it’s safe to bring your kids, fans who support different teams can sit together, fan marches are joined, it’s a friendly environment – I will pick this over testosterone-fueled vandalisms and violence any day.
Also, not that much theatrical rolling around the ground; and it feels like there are more goals too. I haven’t checked the stats on that though.
Time to step up and make men’s football enjoyable for all – or we could all just agree that women’s football is far superior in so many ways and leave it at that.
I’m mainly talking about WEURO2025 that Switzerland is currently hosting. The final will take place in Basel on Sunday. And I was lucky enough to go watch one of the games at Letzigrund in Zurich.
Back to the office everybody!
This is so much about control. I mean, people who are able to work from home can do their job just as well from there. And yes, they can start a load of laundry (takes like 2 minutes) and put lunch in the oven (take another 2 minutes if pre-prepped). They can also decide to take a nap during lunch.
Why do you care if the work gets done?
Well, it’s because we’re paying people to be at the office or online for 8 hours a day. It doesn’t matter if they can get everything done in 5 hours. They have to be “at work” for 8.
It makes no sense. You pay them to do a job. Not do time. That’s not work — that’s prison. Think about it.
Talented people
There’s so many of us out there. It’s insane. Yes, totally counting myself.
And for most of us NOBODY knows – okay, not technically “nobody” if you’re reading this 😉. But have you ever walked through an art museum thinking, I could have done that? Or even - I prefer my paintings?
No? Just me then…
Anyway, on Tuesday I walked into the local art museum and just asked “what do I need to do to get my paintings on your walls?” Turns out there is a way for local artists to apply to be included. Baby steps – yes, but STEPS.
And you know what happened since Tuesday? Opportunities to showcase my art are just flying in. Even before applying at the art museum.
The moment I told the universe I was ready - it answered. I want my art to be seen. I need it to be seen. And I want my book to be read. It can and will help people.
So, I also walked into a bookshop (part of the biggest chain in Switzerland) and asked if I had to go through a publisher to get my book on their shelves. Nope, I don’t. I can give it a shot on my own. There’s loads of things to consider of course, and it might not happen, but it’s possible.
I got contact names / email addresses for both.
Why is this annoying me? Because there are so many talented people out there that nobody knows about. It’s infuriating!
A lot of us are on this platform. Let’s all just go out there and claim our space!
I’m on my way.
That’s my first mid-week / hump day grumble. Have a good day everyone.

Love this grumble 🌻
Love this “Hump day
Grumble”. I agree with everything you said, although I can’t imagine myself in an art museum saying, “I could have done that”. Art I can admire and love, but I was born without the artistic gene you have😊
Thanks for a great read‼️
