"I loved the passive-aggressive announcement in Brussels about a train delay. It said: “due to an incident in Germany the train to … is running 13 minutes late” that’s code for: “The Deutsche Bahn has completely lost the plot and we’re annoyed that the screw up the schedule of trains running in Belgium, but we have to pretend to be nice about it”."

Giggling

Thanks. It was pretty comical.

Travel, travel, travel……golly so very sleepy here this am. I’ve forgotten if I knew, what is ultimate destination? Work or fun? If ever I travel again, want to go with you! 😘

Oh no. Planning train trip to Harlem near Amsterdam from Basel. dB sucks. But it is incredibly cheap. About 25% of Swiss price/ km.

I prefer my trains on time 😉

I hear that it's possible to get on one that's on time or not all that late.

When are you traveling? At the moment trains are being diverted and there's a bus replacement service. Just checked the SBB App and right now the fastest route is through Paris. Which coincidently means that you are avoiding Deutsche Bahn.

But once they are done with the maintencance work, through Germany should be faster again - according to the schedule at least.

End November. We looked at Paris but didn’t like the idea of changing stations there.

Totally with you on that. It's doable, but might be a bit stressful.

I don't know how long construction work will last, but I'm sure DB has that info somewhere. And their timetables should be up-to-date too of course. So, if you're booking through them, no worries.

According to the SBB App it looks like there are connections through Köln again in November. Sorry I brought it up. 😊
